My Journey to Pangasinan 2007

Manaoag

She is the raison d'ĂȘtre of everything to our journey to Pangasinan.

Our licensure exams in nursing keeps my mind stressed, my heart beats fast. Our group, A5 have decided to go to Manaoag in Pangasinan.

They said that Our Lady of Manaoag is known as a religious shrine with countless miraculous tales and healing powers. We have high beliefs and faith with the lady.

Few have made it to go to Pangasinan, but some had their own commitments and wasn't able to join us in our journey but as one, we prayed hard and with good intentions to offer her the countless blessings we've been receiving. We prayed so hard so we can make it pass our board exams. We were blessed that she kept us united in things we do and the the friendship we've nurtured in years.

May she always guide us and hear us in all the things we will encounter, through the lord, Amen.

Patar Beach, BoLinao, Pangasinan
Treasured White Sand from the North

Facing China Sea

Have you been in this place? It is one of a kind amazing. Stratocumulus floated more than 10,000 metres up that day of June 26 year 2007. The far-off area of BoLinao from Province of Pangasinan is a three hours voyage from the City of Urdaneta, hometown of my best friend Rebz. Along our journey, passing nine towns before we get into it and a long wacky talks had really made my day. The music of laughter, the creeping silence of the town, the sea foods of Bolinao’s wet market, the old 16th century church that bears the royal seal of Queen Isabela of Spain, the stores in the market and all that overwhelms our boredom. Thirty minutes more from downtown, remarkable white sand and friendly natives captured my eyes. Then here we go, the old road sign pointing to Patar Beach, the absence of our cellular phone’s signal and again, the excitement, laughter, smiles from faces of my friends, Rebz, momy Didith, baby Thyrd, MR, Jan, Ghie, Aaron, Jason and Manong Driver startled me. Century Old Lighthouse!!! Wwwooowww!!! Here we are!! Treasures of Bolinao Beach Resort which is resided in the heart of Patar white beach!!!Just got LucKy!

Stepping cLoser...

more cLoser! snorkeling, fishes and korals under!

had fun underneath white sand and plunged into the pooLs!!

I was astonished by the waves, the implausible rocks, the sea sides, the suites, the pools, bridges, the natives, the corals and fishes under during snorkeling experience, the sunrise and sunset that gone astray, the night with big white full moon that gave light from the rest of the place, the sound of “TuKo”, the inihaw and the “hard-headed” crabs (Rebz gave me a hand in eating those!), the music of Manong Driver while singing in free “videoke”, the child-liked play of Dean Ghie and swimming instructor Sir Aaron with us acted as “makukulit” na students (me, rebz, jayson, jan, mr), the mother and child bonding of momy’ Dith and Thyrd and more restless “mataya aLL” games in the pool. Cameras captured those moments. Our moments of sharing, laughing and silence completed the crossing.

Then there was these moment where my emotion stealt in. As I seated alone at the Miranda over looking the China Sea, just as the morning moved stealthily… I retreated and realized it was my friends with me…

their laughter, respect, understanding,

the bond that we had that ties our friendship,

our spirit, and the love for each other are the ones that gave meaning to these journey. These are worth keeping reminiscence that I would cherish for the rest of my life.

Warmest Accommodation from our trip to Pangasinan

Many thanks to my best friend Rebz and to her family for a warm accommodation of their comforting house. Her hometown lies in the beautiful Province of Pangasinan, City of Urdaneta.

Just a trivia: One hundred twelve years ago, January 8, 1858 to be exact, in the near eastern part of Pangasinan, a municipality was born. History has not been clear on how her name came about. The name links her to that famous aide of Magellan, Father Simon de Urdaneta, soldier, navigator, cosmographer and evangelist, after whom she has been named. Today, Urdaneta City serves as the commercial center of eastern Pangasinan. It became a city in 1997 by virtue of RA 8480.#

And there was this beautiful child, born with a curly hair named after her sisters, REBELIZA GRACE MANGAHAS.
Welcome to my page mare! I miss you!!

Dagupan

Bangus Capital of the World! Natives’ main occupation is fishing and salt making, a major source of income among coastal residents of today. It is bounded by the Lingayen Gulf in the north, San Fabian in the northeast, Mangaldan in the east, Calasiao in the south and Binmaley in the west. It was a dry but cool season of the town when we visited the market.

Well, Rebz had a lot to say about this town and she even lend me P5.00 (pesos) to experience the air-conditioned public comfort room of Dagupan City. Hahaha!

Calasiao

Where “Puto” was born! I bought 1 kilo of “puto”, 1 kilo of “kutsinta” and we visited the Church for the Patron Saints San Pedro y San Pablo de Calasiao.

Then I heard their history. Three hundred sixty one (361) years ago, Calasiao was founded by the Dominican Missionaries next to the town of San Carlos, formerly Binalatongan.

We don't have any photos taken from that place, sorry... now lets continue...

One hundred forty five (145) years later, the followers of N.P. Sto. Domingo de Gabon under the leadership of Fr. Luis Candullo began the construction of another church for the Patron Saints San Pedro y San Pablo de Calasiao. This was ruined by an earthquake a few years later. Soon after, it was rebuilt by the people who were avowed catholics without the aid of present-day machines but with perseverance and determination to finish a work begun.

That was one really remarkable!

Till on our way home,,, Betty's Native Cakes is what we are looking for...

then we end up here...

Armed Forces Museum located at Tarlac!

What a journey!!

Whatever Kuya Jayson!!hehehe

Many Thanks A5!!!

Now here's another story...

With my Friends Mary Ann and Ditas

Way back on year 2004. My best friend Mary Ann invited me to Mangaldan, Pangasinan where Ditas and I spend our 2 days vacation with Mary Ann’s family. Many Thanks to their warmest accommodation! I remember we had our shower at the “poso” with a big “palanggana” (tub) together with her sisters Ate Joy and Joan and cousins Gege (now a big time singer-rapper and a talent of abc 5) and the rest of the gang. We had our swimming at “ilog” (river) so peaceful with a creepy long walks at “palayan”. I had with me the borrowed flip flops and shorts apparel from Human. We just like the idea of going nowhere then hangout wherever. We had captured pictures of Lolo and his buddy “the carabao”. And just before we go home, we attended the Christianization of the new child from their family in the church of Mangaldan and walked in by the market for “pasalubong”! We also went to the church of Out Lady of Manaoag, attended the Sunday Mass and that was my first time to visit Her Miraculous Shrine.
